Sarah Hollis is a Project Assistant with the EPA Region 4 Environmental Finance Center and the Center for Environmentalsarah hollis Policy and Management at the University of Louisville. She holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning (MUP) from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor or Arts degree (BA) in Classical Civilization, also from the University of Michigan.

Her previous work included a public sector internship and a membership in a private development company, both of which dealt with housing. As part of an intensive masters project with other graduate students, Sarah created a plan for a non-profit housing corporation to foster rehabilitation, improve community relations and construct new housing in a low income Detroit neighborhood. The plan involved a detailed housing conditions survey, research of current City of Detroit vacant land acquisition policies, facilitation of community meetings and the generation of detailed GIS maps. The plan recently was awarded the Outstanding Student Project Award of 2003 by the Michigan Society of Planning.

As Project Assistant, she is currently involved in writing, editing and distributing practice guides throughout Region 4 -- the Southeast -- in an effort to increase education about environmental planning, brownfield redevelopment and community revitalization. She is also responsible for maintenance of the webpage.
